Trusts and Foundations

For over forty years, research funded by Wellbeing of Women has contributed to numerous techniques and treatments that are now standard practice in women’s healthcare.

Our unique relationship with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists ensures that we invest in the very best of medical research, which has resulted in some remarkable progress. However, we are entirely dependent on voluntary contributions to fund the cost of our vital medical research, public awareness campaigns and health information resources.

The loyal and generous support we receive from Charitable Trusts and Foundations is essential to our work. We are always looking to forge new relationships with trusts committed to finding solutions that will lead to a better future for women’s reproductive health. We are currently supporting a wide range of research projects that could have a huge impact on women’s health.

Current research projects funded by trusts include:

  • Developing a virus delivered therapy for ovarian cancer
  • Investigating the use of melatonin in reducing brain damage in babies
  • Exploring the role of blood vessel growth and blood flow resistance in the womb in cases of recurrent miscarriage
  • Researching BOTOX injections as a treatment for over active bladder disease, a common cause of urinary incontinence in women over 40
Trusts and Foundations can fund the duration of a research project or make a significant contribution by funding the researchers or laboratory equipment crucial to the success of the project. They can also choose to fund Research Training Fellowships and medical bursaries.

If you are a Trustee or have links with a trust and would like to find out more about how you can support Wellbeing of Women, please contact the Trusts Department on 020 7772 6473 or email Trusts at Wellbeing of Women.
