Wellbeing of Women awards a minimum of ten bursaries of £1000 each towards the expenses of medical and midwifery student electives every year. The bursaries are part funded by the National Birthday Trust Fund, which has supported perinatal research since 1935, but now supports broader areas of medical training. The fund is administered by Wellbeing of Women.
Students studying in the UK or Ireland who are going on a formal elective and whose projects are within the areas of obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology (but not paediatrics) or midwifery are invited to apply. The next elective round will open in Summer 2013.
